Abundant Life

The Bible tells us, in John 10:10, that Jesus came that we might have life, and that we might have it more abundantly. To have abundant life, means to have life in all its fullness. In other words, it means that we do not miss out any good thing, that is, any thing that is really for our good. This is one of the provisions that God has made for us, but we realize the manifestation of it as we know Him more intimately in the fellowship of His sufferings and the power of His resurrection. We must position ourselves for the blessings of abundant life. We must know what God’s word tells us to do, and we must be submissive to Him to the point that we will do it. This includes applying God’s principles and precepts to our live in areas such as money, health, relationships, authority, etc. Abundant life does not mean the absence of trouble, as evidenced by the many troubles the apostles, and the Lord Himself, endured upon this earth, but it does mean a life of peace and power in the Holy Spirit. It means a joy filled life, with a great sense of purpose and meaning. Every Christian should be able to say, “I have life, and I have it abundantly!”
