The New Year

I have started my new year off on the run.  I had originally planned to take it easy today, on the first day of the year, but it just didn’t work out that way.  A former church member, who happened to be the same age as I am, passed away, and I was involved in his funeral service today.  Tomorrow, I will be involved in the funeral service for a dear senior adult lady, who had recently had to move to a nursing home in another town.  The book of Ecclesiastes tells us that there is a time to be born and a time to die.  In the New Testament book of Hebrews, we are told that it is appointed unto man once to die, and after this the judgment.  God sovereignly controls the times and seasons of our lives, and when He calls, we must go.  How wise we will be to enter this new year, redeeming the time, taking full advantage of each day.
