Happy People

Years ago, a church was planning a revival meeting, and the visiting preacher was coming in on the train.  The pastor asked one of the deacons to go to the train station and pick up the preacher.  The deacon, not knowing the visiting preacher, thought it would be no problem, because preachers aren’t that hard to spot.   He saw a man and decided that must be the preacher, so he approached him and asked him if he was the preacher, to which the man answered, “No, I’m not a preacher, I’ve just been sick!”   I’ve heard people talk about how happy they are, and I’ve thought, “You ought to tell your face!”   Regardless of the poor advertisement we see in some who profess the faith, nothing can ever brighten one’s pathway like Jesus can.
